Word

Have you ever been told I love you, I hate you, I miss you, and I’m sorry? How does this make you feel to be told these things and many others just like it? I bet the words from anyone you care for have an influence on you. I see it every day in my own life how a word from someone can change my day. God has that very influence on our lives as I speak. Whether it is change about our day, mind, or life words have a much more powerful meaning.

In John chapter 1 verse 1 it states "In THE beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” In the text of my bible the “w” in Word is capitalized like the “G” in God is capitalized. Meaning The Word is powerful like God our father. A lot of times we use our words like we use tissues to blow our nose and toss it in the trash can. Not knowing how much power is in the words that we say is a costly mistake. As a man I can go out right now to use my words, to try to get into the heart of a woman and control her. Or a woman can come up to me and use her words to try to convince me to cheat on the women I love.

In Genesis chapter 1 we are given the details of how God made the heaven and the earth. Note that in verse 3 it says” And God said let there be light: and there was light.” It didn’t say God clapped his hand or God blowed his horn. The verse says God said let there be light. God gave us the same power he used to make our universe. Being in the image of God, it should be known that God gives us a lot of powerful tools at our disposal. Yet even our friends and family can use words to convince you to be of this world instead of from it.

Finally in Matthew chapter 15 verse 11 which reads” Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.” Jesus himself said these very words that what you put into your mouth does not defile you. But what comes out of your mouth that defiles. Be it spreading rumors or cussing out the person that cuts you off while driving. Or telling some to go to hell or even saying God will put them in hell. You never know when the power of your own words will come back to haunt you. Like with God your word will be with you from the beginning of your life till the judgment from God our father amen.

Words are powerful. They can either lift up or tear down. Like your Hub.
